About Me
Hi, I’m Tom. I’ve worked in the mental health industry for more than a decade, running creative wellbeing charity Retune and impacting young people aged 5-25 all over the UK. I have also studied to be a counsellor, and I am a professional musician and writer.
Perhaps my greatest wellbeing connection, however, is my own lived experience. I have a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder and OCD and I have lived with a great deal of depression and anxiety. I have been hospitalised on many occasions and sectioned three times. Such experiences, while extremely distressing when they occurred, have been crucial in building my own resilience and means of coping during challenging periods. Life can throw everything at you, but it is our ability to bounce back and find a way forward that is truly transformative.
As your wellbeing coach, I will work with you to overcome obstacles that you are facing, both physically and mentally, and develop meaningful strategies to progress your life and achieve your goals. We will assess what is standing in your way and, over the course of an eight-session programme, work together to empower you on your wellbeing journey.
I draw extensively on the SCALES Model, developed at Retune, in my coaching practice.
SCALES features six wellbeing ‘strings’ - Sleep, Creative, Active, Listen, Earth, and Social - which help you live a healthier, more balanced life.
It’s a practical toolkit that encourages self-awareness, confidence, and lasting positive change.
My sessions are flexible and designed around you. I can work face-to-face or online, and I also offer the SCALES Programme, a structured series of sessions exploring each of the six wellbeing strings in depth.
I’m also able to travel to clients within a 10-mile radius of Bishop’s Stortford, so sessions can take place in your own home - wherever you feel most comfortable.
